Project: The Seats of Hope: Empowering Education Through Classroom Furniture
The Seats of Hope is a social initiative providing safe, comfortable, and functional classroom furniture to underprivileged children.
Many students in underserved communities learn on the floor or with broken furniture, hindering focus and academic performance. A survey by Child Relief and You found 750 schools across 71 districts in 13 states of India; more than 75% of schools lacked furniture and fixtures such as tables, chairs, and benches.
Chirag Evergreen Chapter aims to deliver cost-effective and durable furniture to resource-limited schools, aiming to improve attendance, engagement, and education quality.
Beyond furniture, The Seats of Hope ensures every child’s right to learn with dignity. A simple seat and desk empower children to focus and envision a brighter future, laying the foundation for lifelong learning and opportunity.

Project: Mini-library and Sports club
With 68% of India’s population living in rural areas, schools are barely able to provide a basic education:
According to a survey of more than 30,000 youth from 1,641 villages by the Aser Center, 27% of 14 year olds and 21% of 18 year olds could not read their class 2 textbook in their regional language. More than 40% of children from both age groups couldn’t read a simple sentence in English!
While reading is fundamental to a child’s development, there is a staggering amount of children without much access to reading for enrichment.
We at the Chirag Evergreen Chapter believe that a journey of lifelong reading should start at a young age. So, if the child does not have resources to go to far off public libraries, we will take the libraries to them – as MiniLibraries. We buy a variety of fun, age-appropriate books forming mini libraries and donate them to schools.

As part of the Chirag O2 & Food Campaign, the Chirag Evergreen Chapter has distributed groceries and masks to poor families in Tottanahali, Sangavi, and Meenhabal villages. Also, provided COVID symptomatic treatment medicines and immune boost vitamins.

Description: With careers in STEM becoming in demand and allowing for high-paying jobs and a wide array of opportunities, our team has worked to carry out hands-on workshops at a local family shelter, Family Supportive Housing. We hope to create early STEM exposure for young children, adding the element of art to allow them to express their creative sides.
