Project : Let Children Play Safe & Stay Healthy
Impact : Enable Children to play safely in Government school playgrounds in India during recess and enable hygiene restrooms
Team Members: Ishaan Mandala, Abhinav Gorrepati, Abhinav Gankidi, Arnav Bajjuri, Ashvik Bajjuri
Project Description: At Chirag San Jose, we believe creating safe and fun playgrounds is vital for kids’ development. Playing in an open-air environment is key and essential for the healthy development of kids which promotes critical thinking, physical and social skills. Also having hygiene restrooms for children in schools is essential. We found that many government school playgrounds in rural India are filled with weeds and puddles.
To begin with, we want to transform the “Indirama Government School” playground in Somidi village, Telangana, India into a safe place for children to play and renovate the restrooms and ensure proper hygiene is maintained. The renovation of this playground and restrooms is an important milestone of the “Let Children Play safe & stay healthy” initiative, which will change the lives of more than 500 children in Somidi village by providing them with a safe and incredible environment at school.
We have successfully completed the renovations for Indrama Primary School which includes playground leveling, bathroom renovation, wall painting, gate/door painting, structural fixes, and water supply.
Project Cost : $3000

Project : Help Children Learn in a Safe Environment
Impact : Create a healthy learning environment for children in the Government Aided schools in India
Team Members: Ishaan Mandala, Abhinav Gorrepati, Abhinav Gankidi
Project Description: At Chirag San Jose Chapter, we believe that having a clean/sanitary learning environment is essential for kids, and plays a crucial role in developing them into strong individuals.
However, what we’ve learned is that creating a clean/sanitary learning environment is something that many government schools located throughout various parts of India often struggle with. Many schools often face significant challenges with implementing essential hygiene practices and often lack things as simple as a water tank or a clean supply of water. Old windows, rusted metal, and water leaks are all challenges that Rudramamba Primary School currently faces.
We are now undertaking our next project in renovating “Rudramamba Primary School” into a safe place for children to play and study while ensuring proper hygiene is maintained.
The goal of our project is to help create a healthy learning environment for children in the Government Aided Rudramamba Primary School located in Warangal, Telangana.
Project Cost : $4000
