Dorakottala Anganwadi Building (AAP Project)

Dorakottala AAP will provide children (2-5-year-olds) from lower-income families in a village called Dorakottala (Kurnool District, AP- a rural village in India) with a reliable child care service for the poor. Most of the families in this village live below the poverty line. Currently, the village child service is both unsafe and inconvenient. The old hut with broken walls along with the snakes/dogs around the premises all make for very dangerous conditions for such young children to stay in.
This program’s goal is to build a safe and clean place for these kids to spend the day while their parents work in the fields. The program will work to renovate a school building and surrounding fencing. In addition, the child care center will be able to function for more hours with the funds used to improve the staff system. Longer hours and a safer environment mean older children can go to school for a full day instead of staying at home to care for their younger siblings.
